These brownies are very dense and not too sweet. My husband said they were amazing.
Red Velvet Brownie
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/-1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 2/3 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a 8 x 8 cake pan.
- In a small bowl, combine cocoa powder, red food coloring and 1 teaspoon vanilla to create a paste.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then add remaining teaspoon of vanilla.
- Add cocoa mixture and beat until batter is completely red.
- Add flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, until done.
- Cool completely.

2-1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
4 tablespoons red food coloring
1-1/3 cups chocolate chips
Then just follow directions from original recipe.

Bake for 40 -45 minutes or until done.
