This is another of my mother-in-law’s traditional Christmas cookies she made for her kids when they were growing up. It’s cream cheese and vanilla flavor along with its crunchiness makes it a family favorite.
Snow Flake Christmas Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup of butter
- 3 ounces of cream cheese
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind
- 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy.
- Add the sugar gradually.
- Beat in egg yolk, vanilla extract, and orange rind.
- Add flour, salt and cinnamon and mix until just combined.
- Fill a cookie press.
- Form cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Remove at once from the cookie sheet.
- Cool on wire racks.
- Enjoy!
