My mother-in-law has been making these cookies for her kids and grandkids for years. It is one of our kid’s favorite cookies. They are moist, fluffy and so flavorful. A perfect treat but not too sweet.
Grandma's Sour Cream Drop Cookies

Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425degrees.
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, and egg.
- Beat until smooth and fluffy.
- Add sour cream, and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Chill at least 1 hour.
- Using a 1- to 2-tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop the dough onto greased or line baking sheets.
- about 2 inches apart.
- Press each cookie flat with the bottom of a wet glass.
- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until lightly brown
- Remove to wire racks to cool.
